Branislav Ivanovic reveals he was ‘angry and surprised’ at Luis Suarez (video)

Chelsea‘s Branislav Ivanovic has finally broken his silence after Liverpool striker sunk his teeth into the defenders arm last month.

The incident that everyone has been talking about. Luis Suarez putting shame to his name once again by biting the arm of Ivanovic for no apparent reason in the recent clash between the two clubs.

The little Uruguayan forward has been banned for a total of 10 games for the chomp but the big Serbia international has revealed that he has forgiven Suarez and has moved on. He told Vecernje Novosti: “I was surprised and angry at the time, but after the game my passions were calm and was all forgotten. I accepted his apology. I didn’t attack him for what he done but I also didn’t defend him.”
Suarez has a history of trouble and finds controversy following him wherever he goes. He was involved with a dressing room bust-up with teammate Albert Luque whilst playing for Ajax in 2007, he was a global hate figure when he prevented Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan scoring in the final minute of the World Cup 2010 semi-final in which Uruguay went on to win, and he then went on to earn the nickname ‘The cannibal of Ajax’ when he bit the shoulder of PSV Eindhoven’ Otman Bakkal during a game.

The warning signs were there for the Reds before they paid £23m for him, but they chose to ignore them. He then went on to become a renowned diver, was found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra, and stirred more hatred when he scored a goal with his hand against a lowly Mansfield in the FA Cup.

Nice chap, eh?
