Top 5 Over-30 Premier League Goal Scorers 2012-13 (Video)

5. Kevin Nolan – West Ham (10 goals, 35 games)

Nolan scored 10 goals this season in a promoted West Ham side that never looked like being relegated. His ability to arrive late and get in goal scoring positions from midfield cannot be a coincidence. Nolan has scored more than 10 league goals in each of his last four seasons, showing himself to be one of the best poachers in the process.

4. Jermain Defoe – Tottenham (11 goals, 34 games)

If Defoe hadn’t have got injured in the second half of the season he probably would have scored more than the 11 goals he managed. He only scored one goal after the Boxing Day win over Aston Villa. Despite this, Defoe is fourth on this list and his displays before Christmas deserve huge praise.

3. Rickie Lambert – Southampton (15 goals, 38 games)

Lambert’s first season in the Premier League proved to be a success and there were even calls for him to be in the England squad. He managed 15 league goals and played in all 38 games as Southampton secured safety with games to spare. Lambert has shown himself to be a striker who can find the net at all levels of football.

2. Dimitar Berbatov – Fulham (15 goals, 33 games)

Berbatov kept Fulham in the Premier League almost single-handedly as he scored triple the amount of goals that anyone else did at the Cottage. A signing from Manchester United last summer, the Bulgarian proved to be a real coup for the club. He showed that he still has the talent that once saw Sir Alex Ferguson splash £30million on him.

1. Frank Lampard – Chelsea (15 goals, 29 games)

What is there left to say about Frank Lampard? He broke Chelsea’s long-term scoring record this season and was the club’s top league goal scorer at the age of 34. He managed to secure a new deal at Stamford Bridge and feels he still has one last major international tournament left in him. Let’s hope Frank can deliver double figures again next term in preparation for that World Cup next summer.
