QPR defender open to move to Turkey

With the on-loan QPR defenders loan deal with Bursaspor coming to an end, Anton Ferdinand has said he wouldn’t mind continuing his career in Turkey due to an option to but clause that could be triggered by the club.

I know a couple of QPR fans who despise Ferdinand and blame him for the awful form at the start of the year and cheered when he did leave for Turkey, but I don’t remember him being that bad in the first half of the season, except the absolute ‘mare against MK Dons where they got thrashed by them, but that but he can’t be that bad if he has impressed his on-loan employers and it appears the locals have taken to him and started giving him free stuff when he’s out shopping.

Anton has also admitted he would have loved to have stayed with the West London club and added to the fight against relegation. Surely, in hindsight, Redknapp might have wanted to keep him at the club and all bodies for use would have been more helpful than hindrance.

I think QPR will probably want him off the wage bill though seeing as they were relegated, and other loaned players such as Cisse will be gone after his 6 month loan deal in the Middle East where he was earning crazy money for playing essentially a poor quality of football. So maybe we could see Anton follow in his Les’ footsteps, who played for Besiktas in the late 80’s and is considered a cult hero out there, also they Premier League has a large following out there so they all know of him and his brother, Rio. Also, with players such as Drogba & Sneijder applying their trade out there now, it’s becoming a more desirable league to play in every year, also the sun shines a lot more in Turkey.
