Khedira Linked With Stamford Bridge Move – Why Real Madrid Star Would Be Perfect For Chelsea

The season will begin in less than a month, but pre-season will now be at the forefront of all the news headlines. This includes players being bought and sold, as well as teams’ fitness and form. Everything to do with clubs is the centre of everyone’s interest now that the World Cup has finished.

The rumour mill is certainly in motion as a number of the top clubs in Europe have already signed new players. Everyone in Europe is recruiting and there are deals announced everyday. Chelsea have introduced Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and are closing in on a move for Filipe Luis. However, they may not be stopping there, as they are believed to be eyeing up a move for Sami Khedira. The Express are reporting that John Obi Mikel could be sold in order to land the Real Madrid star.

Khedira has always been an excellent player, which makes it a surprise that Real Madrid would sell him despite almost a full season out with an injury. To accommodate moves for James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos, though, Madrid are having to sell some top talent. This includes Angel Di Maria, who could be off to France to play for Paris Saint-Germain.

With Khedira potentially on the way out too, he is a player that could be perfect for Chelsea. I also think he might be a better fit at the Blues over Arsenal, a team that have also expressed interest in him. I think this because Chelsea already have a brilliant defensive midfielder in Nemanja Matic, meaning Khedira would be able to play in his best position as a box-to-box midfielder.

Khedira is very good at both ends of the pitch and his fantastic engine allows him to participate in both his side’s defending and attacking throughout the match. He does particularly like to get forward and having Matic behind him would enable him to do that. The pair could form one of the best partnerships in Europe and Chelsea would reap the benefits of this.
