Following Podolski, Another Attacker Set To Leave Arsenal In Search Of First Team Action?

Yaya Sanogo

Arsenal have faced a lot of injury problems this season and struggled at times because of the lack of quality players to replace them and perform at the same level. They currently find themselves at sixth position just one point behind fifth place Tottenham and suffered a 2-0 loss to Southampton on New Year’s day. Arsene Wenger has always said that he has faith in his team and acknowledged their capability to finish once again in the top four. The players have also responded positively towards the French manager and have supported him through this tough time.

One man who has not been used much by Arsenal this season is French under-21 striker Yaya Sanogo. The striker has struggled for game time this season and it looks like there are geniuine interest for the youngster from Ligue 1. Sanogo had joined Arsenal from Auxerre in 2013 on a free transfer and is expected to be allowed to temporarily leave the club in January. Arsene Wenger himself is keen to send him elsewhere to gain valuable first-team experience. Reports suggest that French side Bordeaux are hopeful over deal for Sanogo and the striker could leave the Emirates temporarily in search of first team football.

‘We hope that it is on the right road,’ said coach Willy Sagnol when asked about the potential arrival of Sanogo during the January transfer window.

Now, whether a deal works out or not would depend upon the two clubs and the player and how things are handled. As far as things stand at the moment it clearly appears that Sanogo might be leaving Arsenal in the near future.
