Transfer Battle: Chelsea And Atletico Madrid Go Head-to-Head For Spanish Wonderkid

According to the reports, Chelsea face stiff  competition from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid in the race to sign Spanish wonderkid Dani Ceballos.

Chelsea are in the race now for the signature of a young Spanish starlet from Real Betis. The Blues have been tracking the progress of winger Dani Ceballos for some time now and Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho has plans to bring him to Stamford Bridge. The 18 year who is part of the Spanish Under-19 team is currently priced at £6m and Chelsea are quite keen of completing a deal for him with the Spanish side.

Another club which has shown its interest in the young winger are current Spanish champions Atletico Madrid who have stepped up their chase for the player, as a reaction to Chelsea’s efforts to sign him. Diego Simeone may have big plans in mind for the youngster with the Spanish champions looking to retain their title. Also, the temptation of the Champions League might impact the youngster’s decision to make a move to either of the clubs. Though reports in Spain have suggested that both clubs have not made any proper bid for the player at the moment and have only expressed their interest in him. As the race intensifies both clubs will try to make a quick swoop for him as he is one for the future.

On the other hand, Real Betis do not wish to let go of their talented star and are preparing to offer him a new long-term contract to keep him at the club. The former Sevilla man has made 12 appearances for the Spanish side this year and netted once. Also, he has made 4 appearances for their B-side and Betis would be hoping he does sign the dotted line and either stay at the club for a long time or just for a rise in his market value. Further which one of them will seal the deal for the youngster remains to be seen as time will only tell.
