The only goal came just before the interval, but Sky didn’t want to take the report. So it was a quiet day for me… until stoppage time when the match exploded. Ricky Sappleton’s late tackle sparked a mass brawl involving every player on the pitch except the home goalkeeper. Sappleton, Dave Winfield and Emile Sinclair were all shown red by referee James Adcock, who was officiating his first ever league game!

Whilst describing the crazy end to the match, I got my numbers mixed up and said it was a ’23 man brawl’ much to amusement of Jeff Stelling. Mocked by The Stelling – I feel honoured!!
