All change at the Emirates next term

Arsene Wenger has always been known for not investing in his squad with big names, but now the current season is yet to end and already Arsenal have seemingly secured the capture of two big name players.

Yann M’Vila and Lukas Podolski look like they’re on their way to the Emirates and after another season without silverware there is a sense of optimism around Arsenal.

It feels like an eternity since Patrick Vieira lifted the FA Cup at the Millennium Stadium and ever since Wenger has come under criticism for his lack of spending, but finally it seems he has given in and money will be splashed out.

M’Vila will be joining from Rennes for nearly £18 million and Podolski from FC Koln for an undisclosed fee expected to be less than that paid for M’Vila.

In previous years Wenger has used the transfer window to buy unknown players, some have worked, and others have not.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been a ravishing success whereas players like Aaron Ramsey, have not.

I will expect Ramsey to be given the boot in the summer for he has been awful since the turn of the year, and his performances have constantly been poor and M’Vila will be a much better fit.

With the possible addition of Clint Dempsey from Fulham next season promises to be the best for years.

Bringing in these three and ditching the garbage that is the likes of Ramsey and Arshavin gives me real belief that we are one defender short of challenging for the title.
