Chelsea’s new Belgian truffle Eden Hazard has insisted that the reason for his move to west-London was to secure the Premier League trophy for his new team, and not to promote himself as a world-beater on a bigger stage than he was on with French outfit Lille.
The next thing we will be hearing is that Fernando Torres’ move to the Bridge was based on what he thought was best for his career, rather than the £175,000 a week that he is reportedly pocketing at the end of each month, in addition to the humongous signing on fee that he would have received.
Hazard has declared his passion of creating chances for his Chelsea team-mates, but is rumoured to be frustrated as the club don’t currently own a striker talented enough to finish the opportunities. Instead, they are left with a miserable, long-haired fairy leading the attack, who struggles to find the net; even without a goalkeeper to stand in his way.
The Belgian international wolfed down a waffle and proceeded to speak to the press, in which he explained the situation he found himself in:
“I love to set up my team-mates,” he said. “I am not here to be a star, to show off. I am here to play for the others, but if I have to try and clinch a game then I will.
Whether or not Chelsea get their grubby mitts on the trophy is yet to be seen, but so far they’re ‘Eden in the right direction whilst sitting pretty at the top of the league.
