The distinction between what constitutes good attacking play and slack defending can often be quite tricky to gauge.
For example, this goal by Marlos (classic Brazlian name there) of Metalist Kharkov versus Vorskla Poltava can be defined as both.
Note the definition of recklessness in the tackle by the defender on around the half lane that gives Marlos the freedom of Eastern Europe to do what he likes.
However, once Marlos had run the length of the opposition’s half, he produces the peachiest of peachy chips that leaves the keeper looking like he’s been on the receiving end of a Malcolm from ‘The Thick of It’ rant; vulnerable, angry and a bit silly all at the same time.
Terrible defending or superb attacking play? Why, it’s both of course!
