The closest us Brits usually get to the Danish Super League is when one of their teams, usually FC Copenhagen or this year Nordsjælland, gets battered by one of our lot in the Champions League group stages. This year, one youngster from Danish club AGF Aarhus is causing a stir right at the heart of English football.
21-year-old Aron Jóhannsson has scored 12 goals in 12 matches for Aarhus who currently sit third in the Danish top division. The Iceland born player made 10 appearances for his country’s under-21 side and since has been called up to the main squad.
Despite already having an impressive résumé, Aron has managed something else quite incredible this season, which has caught the eye of non other than Arsene Wenger. On the 27th of August this year Aron broke the record for the fastest hat trick ever in the league and the fastest ever to score four goals. The records were three minutes 50 seconds and 16 minutes respectively.
Arsene Wenger was rumoured to be interested in the player earlier this year and perhaps he could be tempted to buy the Wonderkid in the future.
