European Scouting Update: Switzerland

My latest trip into the depths of some of the more obscure European leagues to try and find some Premier League worthy talent takes me to Switzerland.  My trip took me to the oldest club in Swiss football, FC St Gallen.

Although I do not claim to be an expert on Swiss football, FC St Gallen seem to be something of a yoyo team.  After finishing bottom of the Swiss top division in 2011 they were instantly promoted again the following year.  This year however, FC St Gallen lie second in the league after 12 games.

One player that has been vital to FC St Gallen’s superb start to the season is 27-year-old Argentinian, Ezequiel Oscar Scarione.  Scarione has scored six goals in 12 games and is currently joint top scorer in the league.  Ezequiel is a midfielder, making this total even more impressive and at the age of 27 could the Argentinian, who played seven times for his country at under-20 level, be good enough to make the trip to the premier league?
