Due to their astronomic wages and sometimes arrogant behaviour footballers are often considered to be not the nicest of the people. We all groan when we hear what their weekly wages are and then complain when they sit on the bench and you have the revelation on the couch: ‘he’s earning that by sitting on a bit of wood! I could do that easy’.

There are times, however, when footballers endear themselves to the fans. Charity work, a show of sportsmanship, working with the kids, footballers work hard to dispel the image that many give them.

So, here’s Lionel Messi, for me the best footballer in the world, hilariously inebriated after Barcelona’s victory parade following the great 2008-2009 treble winning season. The whole Barcelona team, in fact, look like a bunch of mates on a night out; jumping around, shouting and all really pissed. Brilliant.
