Belgium are going to be a force to be reckoned with (Video)

The thought of international football is one that doesn’t at all appeal to me. However, when I think of the Belgium national team, I suddenly become excited about the prospect of the international break once again.

The European giants haven’t shown the incredible strength they currently boast in their ranks since the days of Enzo Scifo, Franky Van der Elst and current head-coach Marc Wilmots. Many are of the opinion that the current crop are the best football fans have witnessed in their 108-year history.

You would be hard pressed to argue with those that believe so, considering the likes of Eden Hazard, Mousa Dembele, Kevin De Bruyne and Thomas Vermaelen, to name four, that Wilmots can call upon.

Not only that, but this current Belgium side is still relatively young and will continue to get better with age. Scotland were the latest victims to fall at the hands of the Group A leaders, going down a 2-0 defeat in Belgium when it could easily have been more.

The one reserve many have is that the youthfulness of the squad means they are particularly inexperienced, as the win over Scotland showed on Tuesday night.

Nevertheless, while they lead their qualifying group, the 2014 World Cup may come too soon for this Belgium side, but come Euro 2016, should they qualify; then they will be a team that can easily pose a threat to all those in front of them.
