This 20 yard effort, courtesy of PSV attacker and Dutch international Jeremain Lens, might just be the best header I’ve ever seen in a professional football match? Anybody disagree?
Lens is somewhat of a football anomaly to begin with as he has represented two different national sides. How? He competed in the PARBO Bier Cup for Suriname in 2009 however that tournament is not officially recognised by FIFA, allowing the Netherlands to swoop in for the forward as he had previously played for the Dutch U-21 side. So technically he changed allegiance twice. Impressive yet very confusing.
And that move(s) seems to have been a wise one judging on Lens’ ability to use his head in the final third, in more ways than one.
Lens also has a Dutch Championship and Super Cup to his name with AZ, before clinching the KNVB Cup last season with PSV.
Could Lens one day grace the Premier League? Perhaps, but for now sit back and enjoy the reason you came here, a header of epic proportions.
