Another round of juicy and delicious Premier League games this weekend and allow me to take this time to focus on Sunday’s clash between Chelsea and Liverpool.
Ever since the infamous ‘ghost goal’ in the Champions League semi final this rivalry has carried with it a bit of extra weight. The two clubs have subsequently met in the latter stages of the Champions League, engaging in some of the most memorable matches the tournament has even seen.
The best of those clashes has to be the 2009 quarter finals which saw Chelsea score three away goals at Anfield only for Liverpool to take a 2-0 lead at Stamford Bridge in the second leg. The chaos that ensued made for one of the most dramatic and exciting football games of the last decade.
