Less than a week after dropping the F-word on Goals on Sunday, Friday night saw Edgar Davids receive his first red card in a Barnet shirt.
The dynamic midfielder was sent off after committing two bookable offences, with the Dutchman having only played a handful of games for the Bees since he joined the club in a player-manager role last month.
Davids forced the apologies of Ben Shephard and Chris Kamara to viewers whilst he was talking on the Sunday morning programme about his thoughts of sitting on the bench for Barnet.
The former Ajax star exclaimed: “I’m f*cking Edgar Davids”. And who would argue with him?
Winning three league titles with the Amsterdam club, as well as three Scudetti during a memorable few years at Juventus, Davids is a legend of the game who will not be forgotten any time soon.
Showing he is just as passionate playing on a cold Friday night in Barnet as he was each of the 74 times he pulled on the colours of his national team, both the manic and brilliant actions of Edgar Davids mean he will reserve a place in many a football fan’s heart for a very long time.
