QPR won’t be signing Darren Bent in January (Video)

After reports on Tuesday night suggested that Darren Bent had stormed out of Villa Park having been left out of the squad for Aston Villa’s win over Reading, reports that proved ill founded, it saw the realm of Twitter begin to discuss where the striker could end up in January.

While Liverpool have been mooted as a possible destination, it is Queen’s Park Rangers that are believed to be the likely destination for Bent. After all, the R’s have a new manager in Harry Redknapp and are being linked with a host of players that have played under the veteran boss at one point or another.

On top of that, the West London side have money to spend and after mustering only five points in 14 games following Redknapp’s first game in charge – a 0-0 draw with Sunderland – are being touted as one of the favourites for the drop.

Nevertheless, while QPR have been linked with a host of Premiership experienced players, Bent is one player that won’t be moving to Loftus Road. Many have forgotten about his time under Redknapp during their respective experiences at White Hart Lane while with Tottenham Hotspur.

One headed miss from six yards out against Portsmouth, and a post match interview where Redknapp proclaimed his wife Sandra “could’ve scored that”, it’s unlikely that Bent wouldn’t have forgotten what was said to him following the encounter back in 2008.
