Rio Ferdinand should personally thank Joe Hart for saving him from being blind sided by a reckless and foolish City fan following the ugly scenes after Robin van Persie’s winning goal at the end of Sunday’s thrilling Manchester derby.
Joe Hart intervened and pushed away the fan after Ferdinand had been hit with a coin during United’s celebrations.
The City fan should have really known better as there will be most likely serious repercussions for such poor behaviour.
Hart, though, clearly took a leaf out of legendary United keeper Peter Schmeichel’s book as evidenced here with his rather robust treatment of another fan silly enough to run onto the pitch during a game.
Clearly, keepers are not to be crossed.
