It appears as though Liverpool are going to have a busy January, if reports are to be believed. Deals for Daniel Sturridge and Tom Ince, of Chelsea and Blackpool respectively, are believed to have been completed, but it hasn’t stopped the Reds from looking to further invest.
One of the players they are rumoured to be courting is Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia. The Argentine is expected to depart the Belgian outfit this winter after turning down the offer of a new contract, leading to interest across Europe in the 26-year-old.
Signed by Anderlecht in 2006, Biglia has seen his stock rise significantly since the turn of the decade and currently captains the Belgian Pro League giants. His performances in the middle of the park has seen the likes of Arsenal and AC Milan take an interest in the midfielder, but it appears Liverpool are keen to beat their European competitors to his signature.
While competition is fierce to sign the Argentina international, Brendan Rodgers is hoping to convince him to move to Anfield in a bid to bolster his midfield ranks. Although not a priority position for the Reds boss, the acquisition of the midfielder would surely improve the squad’s strength in depth in the middle of the park, especially with Lucas returning from injury.
