Lukaku stay is good for both parties (Video)

With the news being confirmed that Romelu Lukaku will remain with West Bromwich Albion for the remainder of the season, you can’t help but feel the player and the two club’s, Chelsea included, will benefit from his extended first term experience.

The Belgian moved to Stamford Bridge 18 months ago, but was never really given a fair chance under the previous regime of Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo to really showcase his capabilities to the watching world.

Dubbed the new Didier Drogba the pressure was understandably high, but with the potential shown as a youngster with Anderlecht, there were those who never doubted his ability especially with the paring bearing a striking physical resemblance.

Now at the Hawthorns under the watchful eye of Steve Clarke, the 19-year-old has continuously won the plaudits of the fans, with many marvelling at the stature of a player so young. Lukaku has since netted five times in his seven Premier League starts, reinforcing the ability of the Belgium international.

Reports suggested that the Blues would be keen to bring the teenager back to Stamford Bridge following the poor form of Fernando Torres. However, with Demba Ba signing last week, the decision to keep Lukaku with West Brom until the end of the season will benefit all of those involved.
