Brooklyn Looks To Be As Good As Dad

Beckham has had a trial with Chelsea.

Of course, it isn’t David Beckham that has signed for the European Champions but his eldest son Brooklyn that has played in a training match with the club’s under-14 side.

Dad David, without a club since leaving LA Galaxy, was in attendance at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground and his son’s trial in London may lead to rumours of the Beckham clan moving back to England for good as the former England captain looks for a new club.

Beckham junior is currently a member of dad’s former side LA Galaxy’s under-14 team and if a move to Chelsea did happen it would mean the MLS side losing two Beckhams in one season.

There is no doubting the credentials of David Beckham who has had an illustrious plying career with Manchester United and Real Madrid but Brooklyn may find it hard to emulate his dad.

There have been sons that have followed fathers in to professional football with success and those who have never got close to the footballing highs of their parents.

Football dads that can be proud of football sons include:

Cesare and Paolo Maldini

Johan and Jordi Cruyff

Frank and Frank Lampard

Brian and Nigel Clough

If Brooklyn is to contest dad’s title as the best Beckham he has a long way to go after David picked up; 6 Premier Leagues, 2 FA Cups, 4 Community Shields, 1 Champions League, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 1 La Liga Title and 1 Spanish Super Cup.
