Norwich confirmed the signing of Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel on Friday.
van Wolfswinkel will join the Canaries on the 1st July for an undisclosed fee and have agreed the terms to a four year contract.
Chris Hughton has acted quickly to bolster his attacking options ahead of a new season and with 82 goals in a 188 senior appearances Houghton has been quick to highlight van Wolfswinkel’s proven track record.
But surely the best thing about this signing is having a player called Ricky van Wolfswinkel in the Premier League. Can you imagine the tabloid headlines? And the chants?
It’s a fantastic name and when I first read the story I thought it was a joke. I mean come on…..Ricky van Wolfswinkel? Even you wanted to make up a name that silly you wouldn’t be able to.
And Norwich fans will be hoping they can sing that brilliant names on a regular basis because what they want from him is goals not a hilarious moniker.
And goals is what he can give them if this video is anything to go by.
