Nwankwo Kanu’s wikipedia page states that he is 36 years old but I have a sneaking suspicion that he is a little older than that.
He has been around for ages and you’re telling me he is only 36? Nope don’t think so. This is irrelevant, however, and what is relevant is the fact that ol’ Nwankwo is something of a legend in not only north London (the red part that is) and down by the south coast thanks to time at Arsenal and Portsmouth.
The lanky Nigerian scored some rather brilliant goals for Arsenal and his finest moment was his 15 minute hat-trick against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The third goal was the best; a shot from a seemingly impossible angle that gave the Gunners victory.
His goal for Portsmouth in the FA Cup final means he never has to pay for fish and chips down by the coast again.
Indeed, Kanu has had himself a pretty decent career: a Champions League medal, UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup winners medals and two Premier League titles (including a double). Not too shabby.
