Free kicks are tricky things.
Sometimes teams formulate routines on the training ground to befuddle their opponents are create a clear cut scoring opportunity.
That is, of course, very tricky to do but if a team is able to pull it off then it is a great display of team work. Usually, though, when a team gets a free kick on the edge of the area they simply have a go at scoring directly.
This lower league Austrian team, however, seem to have come up with one of the most brilliantly absurd ideas in the history of football.
For some reason only known to themselves they decide to have two of their own players stand on their knees in front of the opposing team’s wall. As if that wasn’t strange enough the two players in front of the wall do nothing whatsoever.
The cherry on top, though, is when the free kick is actually taken it clatters into one of the players who was on their knees and smashes him in the face.
It wouldn’t look out of place in a Carry On movie.
So watch as these idiots come up with a truly abysmal free kick routine that has a hilarious ending.
