Arsenal forward confirms his exit as six clubs chase his signature
Arsenal fans, if there was one man in your squad that you could get rid of this summer then who would you choose? Andre Santos? Abou Diaby? Sebastien Squillaci? Those names will no doubt be up near the top, but a lot of you, I am sure, will have muttered Nicklas Bendtner without a thought.
The not-so-great Dane was told two years ago to sling his hook but has been unable to find a club mindless enough to sign him on a permanent deal. Both Sunderland and Juventus agreed to take him on a season long loan to see if he could become the player Bendtner thinks he is, but that was never going to happen, was it?
The Metro are now reporting that the forward has six clubs chasing his signature, which again is hard to believe, and that he will leave the Gunners in the next few weeks.
The 25-year-old has a tough fight on his hands to rebuild any sort of reputation, but to do that he will have to ensure the club he chooses from the alleged six the right move for him and not his agent.
Bendtner said: “I am talking with five or six clubs at the moment over a permanent transfer. Things are agreed with Arsenal and I will decide which club I sign for in the next two weeks.”
