Andre Villas-Boas had a tough start to his career in England. He was ridiculed by many after a questionable stint at Chelsea and his accolades from prior clubs, particularly Porto, were unfairly brushed away. However, after a strong season in charge of Tottenham in which he has got them playing sensual football and a chance to win a Champions League place on the last day has seen many doubters change their minds.
Now the man has a chance to really boost morale at the club by securing the future of Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane, but as Spurs fans worry whether or not the Welshman will depart to sunnier shores the Mirror are reporting that the Portuguese gaffer is a candidate for the Paris Saint-Germain hot-seat.
Now, there is no indication on whether or not AVB has even a slight interest in making a switch to the French capital, but with a guaranteed salary rise and an enormous transfer war chest to splash before the new season arrives then it will be a difficult decision to make.
However, with a solid relationship with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and a promise of generous funds to spend, it makes the thought of him leaving something half-built doubtful. He also had a major part in former England number two Franco Baldini as sporting director.
But no matter how many reasons you list for AVB to stay in north London, PSG will be in the Champions League next season…
