Andy bleedin’ Carroll. The man is causing nothing but problems at the moment for everyone involved with the lanky frontman. Liverpool, his parent club, are waiting for him to agree a deal with Premier League outfit West Ham so they can spend their money on other targets, and the Hammers are growing increasibgly tired of the whole debacle as they look to move on strikers who aren’t such a pain in the *cough*.
The Guardian are reporting that Brendan Rodgers and his merry bugle of backroom staff have approached Shakhtar Donetsk in regards to signing £22m-rated Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
That’s easy for you to say.
The 24-year-old smashed the record goals scored in the Ukranian Premier League last season with 25 goals and will be expected to dovetail with Phillippe Coutinho and new arrival Iago Aspas next season. Some feel that this summer is crucial to how long Brendan Rodgers’ tenure at the club will last and so far he is making all the right noises, but fans of the Merseyside club will still be expecting a big money signing to replace Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, if they do both leave that is.
Will this finally be the season we see Liverpool make a title challenge? Perhaps it is a little too early, but it is certainly an exciting time to be a fan of the club.
