The star of the current Under-20 World Cup has been Spain striker Jese Rodriguez who is the top scorer at the tournament. The Real Madrid man is a special talent who has a very bright future.
But what makes him so special?
Jese was signed by Real at the age of 14 after he moved from his native Canary Islands just four years earlier.
He made his Castilla debut in 2011 at the age of 17 which earned him an early call-up to Spain’s Under-19s team. He immediately became one of his country’s hottest young talents, finishing as the top scorer at last year’s Under-19 European Championships.
However, at Madrid he has only occasionally made appearances for the first-team with former boss Jose Mourinho preferring his more senior players.
Jese will want to push for the first team under Carlo Ancelotti and if he does not get that, he will ask to leave the Bernabeu.
Playing style?
Jese can play on the wing or up front as the main striker. He is quick and very agile with a remarkable eye for goal. His movement makes him very difficult to mark which is always a good trait to have.
He loves dribbling at defenders with trickery and pace, you can see why he has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo in the past. If the little Spaniard keeps up the standard he is showing at the current tournament he will be a star in the future.
