From Arsenal to Chesterfield; Luis Boa Morte certainly did the rounds during his playing career in England.
One of Arsene Wenger’s first signings in 1997, Boa Morte made 25 appearances for the Gunners before joining Southampton and then Fulham where he spent the majority of his career racking up over 150 appearances for the Cottagers.
After dominating north and west London, Boa Morte chanced his hand in the East End joining West Ham in 2007. Whilst there Boa Morte became a favourite in the infamous east London markets. Such was the man’s popularity that they named a stall after Boa Morte that sells the finest kippers in all of London.
Anyway, he’s popular guy and when he can pull off dummies like this as he is taking a penalty then it is not hard to see why.
This is brilliant, and Boa Morte, joker that he is, probably had a good laugh at the keeper’s expense as he patted his own back on a job well done.
No one is quite sure where Boa Morte learnt such fabulous technique and skill but the rumour it was refined during his time in America with Orlando Pirates, Again, Boa Morte proved to be popular with the Yanks has he regaled them with stories of his time in the East End and they marveled at his authentic Cockney accent.
