Where Will Wayne Rooney Be Playing Next Season?

Come the shutting of the summer transfer window one name will sure be playing a big part in the never ending gossip columns, Wayne Rooney. Two transfer requests down, the want away forward is still at that dreaded Manchester club, what a poor life our kid leads, so where is the grass greener for the England international?

Money, it would seem would be the motive, but as that old saying goes mo’ money, mo’ problems and it’s evident in Rooney’s case. Playing for the best club in England and arguably the world he sees his future away from Old Trafford, so let’s look at the potential buyers. Manchester City? Chelsea? PSG? Arsenal has been strongly mentioned and would be a great move for him if he didn’t want to win any more trophies, Barcelona have reportedly been sniffing around the former Everton man too. There’s no question the likes of the previously named can finance a move for Rooney, but it’s more a case of where will he fit in? Arsenal are flashing the cash and finally realising money does buy you everything, but with Higuain close to a move and Wenger’s favoured Frenchman Oliver Giroud, would Rooney be expecting to start just as much as he is now at United? Probably not. City have just sold Tevez, but Cavani is top of their list just as the Uruguayan is for Chelsea, but with Mourinho’s distaste for Torres and Ba, a new look front two could be on the cards. PSG, well they could buy him, as could Monaco and let’s face it, Monaco are buying anyone with a pulse, so buying a partner for Falcao would be no bother.

Barcelona are apparently joining the race for Rooney, but where would he fit in? Yes, David Villa is expected to leave, but even then, Messi, Neymar and Sanchez are already the names the Catalan club boast, one potential makeweight for the deal is Thiago Alcantara, who is wanted at Old Trafford. So your guess where Wayne Rooney will be playing next season is still as good as anyone’s, he might even probably, maybe, defiantly end up staying at United. We all know what he’s like.
