The final player from my article from Thursday which some of you may well be thinking ‘who?’ is Jackson Martinez of Porto. A South American striker that plays for Porto, Martinezis a tricky little player.
He’s big, he’s strong, he’s quick. He’s a powerhouse, and a scary one at that. His scoring record last season would also suggest that he is a very clinical player. 31 goals and 2 assists in just 40 games for Porto is a phenomenal set of statistics.
What makes him extra special is that he has a bit of class when in possession of the ball and is known to produce some quite incredible skills. Perhaps if Martinez was to move to the Premier League and keeps up this form then we could compare him to the likes of Thierry Henry or Cristiano Ronaldo, but he isn’t quite at that standard yet, despite being in the mould.
Porto are known for selling players at high prices, and maybe the £35 million estimate from yesterday wouldn’t be enough to land the player. In this climate and with such little time left, we could see Martinez leave for anything over £40 million. Would Arsene, or anyone else for that matter, take a punt on this player? Maybe. Anything can happen.
As always, enjoy the video.
