Will Suarez be welcomed back by Liverpool fans or merely tolerated?

Luis Suarez is back.  And, for better or for worse, he is still a Liverpool player.

After becoming a cult hero at Anfield whilst burning bridges with almost every other team in the Premier League, the Uruguayan forward seemed likely to turn his back on the Reds and leave for pastures new.  However, in what is becoming an increasingly rare tactic for clubs, Liverpool stood firm and told the 26-year-old striker he would not be sold.

Suarez is a fantastic player, yet, at the same time, a controversial one.  Elements of his game such as his skill on the ball and ability to nutmeg anyone in his path are those millions of young people across the globe look to imitate.  The diving and biting, however, have left a dark stain on his reputation which is almost impossible to ignore.

Trying the loyalty of the few people left that trusted and believed in him by suggesting he wanted to leave Anfield was probably not the wisest decision Suarez has ever made.  Despite many Liverpool supporters’ willingness to forgive and forget as long as he continues to perform on the pitch, there are some who have seen a different side to the striker and are now just doing what any fan does by supporting the player whilst he wears their club’s shirt.

From hero to zero in the eyes of some Reds, will Suarez be welcomed back with open arms or will the fans simply put up with him until an inevitable departure?
