3 Goalkeepers Who Could Take Joe Hart’s Spot In England’s Upcoming World Cup Games

Joe Hart’s form has been shaky for a while now, but it wasn’t until two mistakes helped Bayern Munich tear Manuel Pellgrini’s men apart last night in the Champions League. With England coming up against Montenegro and Poland in the next two weeks, here are three goalkeeper who I believe should take his place in those ties.

1) Fraser Forster – Celtic

The massive shot-stopper is my number one choice for the two games coming up. His performance at home to Barcelona in the Champions League frustrated the Spanish giants hugely and since has sparked interest from the Camp Nou outfit themselves.

Barcelona are looking for a Victor Valdes replacement and a £10m price tag is said to be enough to secure his services. A couple of double saves and a blinding low stop kept Celtic’s loss to just 1-0 but also sent warning signs to Joe Hart that he’s after his spot.

2) Rob Green – Queens Park Rangers

Okay, we as a nation aren’t blessed with top keepers. However, with Queens Park Rangers holding the best defensive record in the Football League maybe we should do the unthinkable and ask Rob Green to step back between the sticks for the upcoming games.

With hundreds of topflight appearances and 12 England caps, Green could be in with a shout – especially if Hodgson is selecting on form and not names.

3) John Ruddy – Norwich

Although the Canaries have struggled so far this season, Ruddy has played well. In his six appearances he has kept two clean sheets, averaged two saves per game and boasts a 100% claim rate.
