Ah, Sunday. The final day of the weekend, everybody is feeling lazy, there is football to watch and roast to eat. My favourite day of the week? Quite possibly.
It also means that it is the perfect time for me to share this amusing video with you all as you munch down on the last of your Yorkshire puddings, which are absolutely lathered in gravy.
The clip comes from Dutch television and everybody’s favourite Dutch Skunk is, presumably, about to play a game of football with some lucky kids who have probably won a competition or something.
How excited they must be to get to kick it around with their favourite betrayer of Arsenal, this is the moment they have always been dreaming of. Their accompanying parents are praying to high heavens that scouts are in attendance and they can cash in on their young child’s football talents. They’re dreaming of early retirement.
The stage is set and off they walk to the football pitch and…..OUCH! SMASH! KABAMM! WHAM! WALLOP! One of the poor kids walks straight into a metal gate. You don’t want to laugh, god knows how van Persie doesn’t, but it really is just too bloody funny not to.
Yes, it is never a nice sight to see a child crying his eyes out in pain but come on; that was hilarious! The final moment is brilliant, too; a cheeky smirk from van Persie that he is trying to disguise as a concerned look. The fool.
That child’s parents are gutted; this was the once chance their son had to prove his worth and what did he do? Walk into the metal gate. There goes the early retirement.
