Here are the Premier League’s top five creative players, based on the number of key passes they have made.
1) Eden Hazard – Chelsea
The Chelsea playmaker has had an astounding start to the season this time round and has played 18 key passes in his eight games for the blues so far. Only one of those have been assists, but that says a lot about the quality, or lack of, that Jose Mourinho has available to him up top.
2) David Silva – Manchester City
We know how inventive the little Spaniard is, we’ve been witnessing it for a while now. But after a somewhat reserved campaign last time out under Roberto Mancini, Silva is enjoying a new lease of life this time round. He has completed 17 key passes and claimed three assists.
3) Adam Johnson – Sunderland
Sunderland currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League without a single win from their first eight games, but Johnson has still completed 16 key passes.
4) Steven Gerrard – Liverpool
Gerrard is thriving in his deeper role this year and has completed 16 key passes. With Philippe Coutinho, Luiz Suarez and Daniel Sturridge ahead of him it is hard to hog the headlines, but he has certainly tried.
5) Moussa Sissoko – Newcastle
Newcastle are going through a rough spell right now off of the pitch but performances on it have started to look brighter. Sissoko has made 15 key passes.
