What Could £6m Forward Starlet Offer Arsenal? Analysis

The magic seems to be back at Arsenal as they sit on the top of the Premier League table after nine games played, but there are still some areas of the squad bugging some pockets of supporters. While some are asking for Arsene Wenger to reinforce his defence, most are looking for the wily old Frenchman to secure the services of a striker in the January transfer window, and they are the ones who will be happiest with the reports from the Express suggesting that the club are targeting AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang. But who is he, and what can he offer?

The 18-year-old is slowly making his name in the Italian capital as a promising forward whose close ball control allows him to play either on the wing or in the striker berth. His ability to turn players inside out all the while looking as though he is about to trip over his own feet is enchanting to watch and he possesses a wicked delivery.

Predominantly right footed, a move to Arsenal would also offer Wenger the chance to push Theo Walcott into a centre-forward role if needed as Niang takes over the right flank.

Although unknown to many, Niang has represented France U21 on three occasions, scoring once, and has now played 61 club games between Caen and Milan despite his tender age.

The reports are suggesting that £6m would be enough for Milan to accept, but whether or not Wenger gets his man there will be plenty looking forward to watching Niang progress as a player.
