When looking through the choice of wingers that David Moyes has available to him at Manchester United this season, it’s strange to think that he would be linked to any more, but the Daily Star are suggesting that the former Everton man is ready to bid big for Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria.
But with the likes of Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Wilfried Zaha, Adnan Janujaz and Danny Welbeck who can play on the left, as well as Shinji Kagawa, where would he fit in?
Di Maria is a slippery player who relies on his quick feet and turn of pace. He is flooded with tricks and flicks and can make defenders look foolish with ease.
My take on the matter is that Kagawa will be sold in January and that Zaha will be loaned out to gain some experience, so there will certainly be an opportunity for the Argentina international.
If I had my way, which I won’t, I would have Januzaj operating on the left, with Di Maria on the right and Wayne Rooney in the pocket just behind Robin van Persie. Then I would stick Micheal Carrick in the centre with Marouane Fellaini, with the rest on the bench as impact substitutes.
The squad is looking healthy, we’re on a run of form and Moyes looks like he’s finally settling. Life is good at Old Trafford.
