1) Luis Suarez
Suarez has returned from his suspension full of vigour and has since scored eight in his six league appearances and claimed an assist, as well as making 18 key passes, which is an average of three per game.
2) Steven Gerrard
Gerrard has had a strong start to the season sitting in the pivots with Lucas Leiva, completing 753 passes in total, 29 of which have been key. That is an average of 2.6 per game.
3) Jordan Henderson
Although he has been played in numerous positions Henderson has still managed to shine. He has completed over 87% of his passes – 18 of which have been key, averaging 1.6 per game.
4) Philippe Coutinho
The Brazilian is a slick player who is able to pop the ball around the field with ease, and he has done so far despite his injury. He has made nine key passes, which averages out to 1.5 per game.
5) Glen Johnson
Another player who has missed time due to injury now in the shape of Glen Johnson, but he has averaged 1.2 key passes per game – which equals nine in total.
