Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been said to be after a new centre-forward in January as they both currently look short up top, and it looks as though their search for a frontman has led them to the same one – according to the Express; Ezequiel Lavezzi of Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine is a rapid player who would offer both clubs something that they don’t currently hold so would instantly be in with a shout for a first team spot.
To get the best of Olivier Giroud I would suggest that he needs pace running off him and down the flanks, so to draft Lavezzi could be a shrewd move by Arsene Wenger.
The same goes for Roberto Soldado at Spurs who is an out-and-out goal-getter but struggles to link with the midfield. With more opportunities there is no doubt in my mind that he would be up there with the most prolific forwards in the league.
This season he has scored just once as he plays a bit-part piece in the PSG show, firmly behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani. He is yet to complete a Ligue 1 game this term and if he wants to gain a place in the Argentina squad for next summer’s World Cup then he may need to make a switch.
