Over the years David Moyes has proved a popular figure amongst Premier League fans across the nation as he has whipped his Everton side into an impressive unit under tough circumstances. Now, however, he is in the hot seat at one of the biggest clubs in the world and is finding it harder to be liked. One man who could provide him with a solid kick in the teeth this weekend is Roberto Martinez, who has led the Toffees to a remarkable start to the season.
The two clubs are currently level on points after 12 games of the campaign gone, but Everton are at home to Stoke this weekend while Manchester United travel to Tottenham – a side desperate to repay their fans for their dismal showing last weekend.
Should Everton beat Stoke on Saturday, then the Merseyside outfit will move onto 24 points, the same tally as second place Liverpool and third place Chelsea are both currently on.
It would put the pressure on Moyes to get a win at White Hart Lane with a string of injured players unavailable to him and could be the point in his head which he tells himself that he wishes he had never left Goodison Park.
No pressure, Dave.
