It seems incredible that Aaron Ramsey has gone from a player who frustrates fans enough for them to call for him to be sent on loan, to a man who has scored 13 goals in 22 games this season which has seen the Gunners go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table – all in such a short space of time. With good form comes interest in other clubs, but Wenger has apparently ruled out a move for the Wales international, even if it’s for £50m.
He’s a cracking young player, but it got me thinking how his all-round game has looked this year, away from the goals.
Sensational, is the conclusion. He has created 18 key passes in his 13 appearances in the Premier League and currently has a 71% shot accuracy. He holds an 85% pass completion rate, which is pretty impressive, and has also won 48/90 of his tackles, which makes him the player with the most tackles in the entire division.
His movement looks better than last year, his confidence is sky-high and he looks to be enjoying what he is doing – all ingredients in a recipe for success.
It is fair to say that there is a lot more to the 22-year-old that meets the eye and I for one hope it continues until the very last kick of the Premier League season.
