One man who has been linked with a move to Manchester United in order to shore up their midfield is Arturo Vidal, but United fans will be weeping into their dinners this evening as the Chile international has signed a new deal at Juventus. So, to rub a little bit of salt into the wounds, here is what you could have won.
Vidal is a player who bursts from box to box but the attention is always on him. He can pass – he’s completed 83% of his general passes and made 26 opportunities – he can tackle – He’s already won 40 tackles this season in his 13 outings – and he can scored goals – He has five in the league and five in the Champions League.
He is the all round player. Despite his height, he has also won 57% of his headers, which is good going.
The 26-year-old has outshined Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba this season which in itself tells you how talented he is, and he has been a huge reason as to why Juventus have lost just one game in Serie A this term.
For me, Vidal was the ideal candidate for David Moyes to go all out for in January, but that is unlikely to be the case now that he’s extended his stay in Turin by another year.
