The January transfer window is going to be a huge one this time round for Manchester United – it could even be make or break for David Moyes’ title hopes. With the Metro reporting that the Red Devils will be moving for Leighton Baines, Ander Herrera and Ilkay Gundogan. But where would the trio fit into the side?
The former is obvious, as the Everton defender is a left-back. He would be coming into the club as a Patrice Evra replacement as the Frenchman has been linked away from Old Trafford. For me, Baines is a stronger, more technical player than Evra and would improve the United defence hugely.
Next up is Herrera who United tried to bring in during the summer. The Spaniard is a little nippy player who roams the central areas looking for little pockets of space to operate in and utilise his incredible passing capacity. It’s likely that he would slot straight into the United team alongside the man I am about to mention.
Gundogan is a player who can play anywhere in the middle of the pitch. He can sit in front of the back four, picking off opposition attacks, or he can be pushed up behind the striker in order to use his creativity.
Should the trio of players come into the side then United would have one hell of a squad.
