We are heading into the gritty part of the season where the games come thick and fast for all. After 15 outings from the majority of the Premier League sides we now start to get an idea of who will finish where. The main story of the season so far is Manchester United’s struggle. The reigning champions are finding life hard under David Moyes and are in need of something to fire them up for the rest of the season to rekindle their title hopes, so here is what I have come up with.
1) Sign Koke
The Spaniard is currently the joint leader in terms of claimed assists (8) in the top five European league – level with Cesc Fabregas – and would be ideal to come in and add some creativity into the United midriff.
He’s a box-to-box type player who loves burning energy and motoring around the central areas, but is at his best when in a free role just behind the striker. If United can be up near the top in the mix then Koke could be persuaded.
2) Offload the deadwood
For me, there should be a list of players who should be on their way out. Anderson, Ashley Young, and Alex Buttner would be on my list, as well as Wilfried Zaha albeit the latter on a loan.
3) Reinvest it into Defensive midfielder
The loss against Newcastle proved that United are in need of a holding midfielder, perhaps in the shape of Chieck Tiote. There seems to be a lack of bodies in the middle, especially with Michael Carrick missing through injury.
