THREE Manchester United Players Who Should Lose Their Place In The Team After Sunderland Loss

Sunderland take a 2-1 lead into the second leg of the League Cup semi-final next week, as they overcame a weak challenge from a limp Manchester United side. Next up for the Red Devils is Swansea, who beat them at Old Trafford at the weekend, so here are three players who should lose their place in the team, in my eyes.

1) Tom Cleverley

Ignoring the fact that he gave away a penalty with a lazy tackle, Cleverley was poor throughout. His concentration seemed off and when he had the ball at it his feet he looked as though he was going to lose it every time.

His touch was poor, his movement looked sluggish and he was overrun by Lee Cattermole in the middle of the park. That tells you all that you need to know.

2) Ryan Giggs

Giggs just isn’t the same player that he was and he is simply taking the minutes off other players who would be better off with them. The likes of Shinji Kagawa and Wilfried Zaha could be on the pitch trying to take players on and inject some magic into the team, but instead Giggs is slowing everything down and losing possession.

He also scored an own goal, which summed his game up.

3) Rafael

For me, Smalling is a much better option at right-back right now than the Brazilian. He is rash, argumentative and could have cost his team dearly with a clumsy challenge soon after being booked. He’s also slack when on the ball.
