If you’re looking for technical players, La Liga is probably your best bet. The Spanish game is flooded with able players and the league is renowned for its soothing feel, so it is no real surprise that Premier League clubs are apparently flocking to La Liga for this month’s transfer window.
There have been numerous names floating about between the leagues and one of those is Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, better known by his first name. The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano but is supposedly a target for both Arsenal and Chelsea.
Rayo have been appalling this season, losing 13 of their 19 games, but individually Saul has been impressive. He has made 17 appearances for the Spanish outfit and has already won 55 headers from the 100 he went up for, and he has also shown his passing abilities.
He has completed 80% of his passes while averaging seven defensive actions per game, and although he is still very young he would provide a lot of energy into either side.
Both sides have reasonably strong midfields but it seems to be Arsenal who are closing in, as they have held talks over a potential move, but the Blues will look to scupper the deal. Would he be a good signing? I would say yes.
