6 Assists, 4 Goals: Why Arsenal Should Be Watching Bundesliga Playmaker

Think of Arsenal and currently you would currently think of  some silky football which has got them to the top of the league. Arsenal Wenger’s squad is packed tightly full of creative players but there is always room for more, and I think that I have found a potential suitor. Stuttgart’s Alexandru Maxim has lit up the Bundesliga this season and is still only 23, and for me should be top of Arsenal’s shopping list.

He is a central player who looks to bring the game to the opposition by picking up possession and driving forward, all the while keeping his head up and looking for the pass.

The Romanian has an incredible amount of technique in his game and injects a load of energy into his side, and in his 12 appearances in the German topflight he has claimed a remarkable six assists.

He’s also scored four goals, which is a decent return considering the side he is playing for.

He averages 38 passes per game and in that he averages 2.2 key balls per game, so to add that alongside Mesut Ozil – the assist king, and Santi Cazorla – the Spanish wizard, Olivier Giroud would have a field day. He’s quick too.

This clip will show you a bit more.
