Flogged: 5 Premier League Stars Who Could Be On The Move This Month

It’s that time of year where clubs look to buy key players to aid their seasons and offload players that haven’t been able to fit the mould. With clubs eyeing big names and potential stars, it seems like everyone is looking for that star player to be the bolster for the team’s success. Yet sometimes for players a move doesn’t always turn out the way they would like in the long term. Today we are going to look at five players that may be on the move this month.

5. Iago Aspas

Iago Aspas arrived at Liverpool in the summer of the 2013 from La Liga side Celta Vigo. Aspas was an exciting prospect for the club that was expecting to lose starlet Luis Suarez after a period of unrest.

With Liverpool’s attacking forefront of Suarez and Sturridge, Aspas has fallen out of favour and has only managed to appear 10 times in total for the reds. It will be interesting to see whether Aspas waits out the time on the pine at Liverpool or looks for a move back to Spain.

4. Dimitar Berbatov

Hailed by Sir Alexander Ferguson as a ‘Football Genius’, Dimitar Berbatov found success in a Tottenham and Manchester United shirt. But it was a transfer in the 2012 season to London side Fulham that has sparked a loss of form for the Bulgarian.

Currently Fulham are in a battle to stay out of the relegation zone and despite the change of managers, from Martin Jol to Rene Meulensteen, it hasn’t improved Berbatov’s form.

3. Juan Mata

Since arriving in the Premier League the Chelsea winger has shown just how valuable he is to a team. Whether it is assisting or scoring, Mata usually finds himself in the mix of most of Chelsea’s scoring opportunities.

Arriving at the club in the 2011 season from Valencia, Mata quickly adapted to the English game and became a regular starter for the Blues.

However with the appointment of Jose Mourinho, the Spaniard has fallen out of favour. This has supposedly caught the interest of many big clubs around the world and it will be interesting to see whether Mata will succumb to the possibility of a move elsewhere.

2. Demba Ba

Another Chelsea starlet who could be set for a move is Senegal international Demba Ba. Having shown he was a goal scoring machine playing at Newcastle, Ba was quickly snatched up by Chelsea in the 2012 summer transfer period and lead the front line alongside Fernando Torres.

Yet like his teammate Mata, Demba Ba has fallen out of favour in Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side and which has sparked numerous rumours. It will be definitely be one of the transfers to watch.

1. Wayne Rooney

Whilst rumours have been crushed by Manchester United manager David Moyes, the possibility of Wayne Rooney staying at United is looking slim to me.

The Englishman has proven his worth through many years at united and helping them to achieve numerous silverware. With the acquisition of Robin van Persie, Rooney was already shown to have to fight for his position at United, and now with the slump of for United have been in this season other clubs are looking to pick apart the pieces.

Whether Rooney sticks out this rough patch at United remains to be seen but my guess is that we will be seeing him pull on a different shirt sooner rather than later.

All potential clubs are guesswork
