With Arsenal top of the Premier League table after 21 games, fans of the north London side are starting to dream of clinching their first title since the 2003/04 season. There is still a large chunk of the season to play, however, and if they are to get their hands on that elusive trophy then they will need a gallant effort from all involved, and that includes Jack Wilshere.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the Gunners’ key men over the last few years but is still to taste any success in terms of silverware. The England international, when questioned what competition he would like to win most, said that his focus is on the Premier League.
Watch the interview below to hear what he says.
But how can he personally make sure that they finish as cream of the crop? Well, taking a closer look at how he has performed so far this season, he should be looking to carry on his fine form.
He is most effective from the middle of the pitch – I don’t think many will argue that he looked better when played out wide – and I also think that the more offensive role suits him better.
He has scored three goals and created 25 chances this season so far for Arsenal, while also completing 85% of his passes.
For me Wilshere is hugely important to Arsenal in their chase for the title, not only because he has massive amounts of ability, but because he has the drive and passion that can be matched by few.
